uOttawa Student Wins Philip H. Jones Award

The Faculty of Engineering is proud to announce that Environmental Engineering student Étienne Bordeleau from the Department of Civil Engineering has won the best student presentation at the 45th Central Symposium on Water Quality Research held on February 22nd and 23rd in Burlington, Ontario. Étienne Bordeleau won for his paper “Comprehensive Wastewater Treatment Plant and Sludge Pretreatment Model” that was prepared with his supervisor Dr. Ron Droste.
Civil Engineering Professor participates in uOttawa panel on Humanitarian Crisis in Haiti

On January 28th, the University of Ottawa hosted a multidisciplinary panel on the humanitarian crisis in Haiti. Moderated by Evan Solomon, host of CBC News Network’s Power & Politics, the panel brought together five University of Ottawa experts and professors to discuss the litany of challenges that Haiti faces in the wake of the devastating earthquake.
Faculty of Engineering Hosts Women Engineers – Moving Up in Ontario

On January 28th and 29th, the Faculty of Engineering was proud to hold the leadership development workshop Women Engineers - Moving Up in Ontario. Over 55 engineers gathered in the beautiful Desmarais Building to learn about the advancement of women engineers in North America, to network with others in their field, and to learn about industry-academia partnerships. Speakers from Ontario industry, government, and university organizations provided a spectrum of experiences that all the participants can draw upon to plan their future careers.
Student Volunteer of the Year Scholarship of the Faculty of Engineering

The Faculty of Engineering is proud to announce that the annual Student Volunteer of the Year Scholarship is now open for nominations. Every year, the Faculty of Engineering organizes a number of events for past, present, and future engineering students. The success of these events has always depended on our students who volunteer their time and effort for the benefit of the University of Ottawa. The Student Volunteer of the Year Scholarship was created to highlight the important contributions made by these volunteers. This year, the Faculty of Engineering will offer two scholarships of $1000 each to the two students who have made the most significant contributions to our Faculty.
